2020 Round-up

This year has been a little strange for everybody around the world, but at Inspired Ecology we have been very fortunate to have had a busy year thanks to our clients’ continued support. Here’s a brief summary of what we’ve been up to in 2020.

Inspired Ecology grew this year, when Helen joined the team as Principal Ecologist in April, bringing with her over 10 years of experience. The whole team has continued their professional development, attending training courses in Biodiversity Net Gain, Bats in Churches, and survey techniques. As a result of Ian’s expertise in ecology, he became a full member of the Chartered Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) in August. Over the summer, Rachel was promoted to Ecologist and gained her great crested newt survey licence.

Together, Ian, Helen and Rachel have conducted over 150 surveys this year, including over 35 bat surveys! A particular highlight for all the team has been surveying a maternity roost of soprano pipistrelles in Grimsthorpe, as well as returning to Tattershall Church to count the bats in the soprano pipistrelle and Daubenton’s maternity roosts there.

In these uncertain times, we’d like to say thank you to all of our clients for continuing to choose us. Another huge thank you goes out to everyone who has assisted us on surveys this year, and we’re very grateful to Andrew for continuing to provide quality checks and advice on all of our reports.

The Inspired Ecology team wishes you a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! We hope to see you again in 2021!
