Kiran Johal MZool (Hons)
Kiran studied Zoology at university and has four years’ experience of working in ecological consultancy with a range of different species. She holds Natural England Class 1 licences for bats and great crested newts and is working towards obtaining her Class 2 bat licence and hazel dormouse licence.
During her time at university Kiran conducted bat surveys for a local ecological consultancy alongside her studies . After she graduated Kiran worked for the Bat Conservation Trust briefly before she began working in forensic ecology at Warwick University where she analysed DNA samples.
Since then, Kiran has worked as an ecologist for several multi-disciplinary consultancies. She has gained a broad range of experience whilst working on both large and small-scale projects including within infrastructure and within the residential, industrial and service sectors.
Kiran is an active member of both the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Bat Groups, as well as being a voluntary bat rehabilitator for Lincolnshire Bat Group. Kiran is also involved with monthly dormouse box checks with the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Dormouse Groups.
