These common reptile species are protected from intentional killing, injury and trade under The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended).
As with many protected species surveys, there are seasonal constraints and presence/absence surveys must be timed to occur in the active season (April to September). Forward planning can prevent unnecessary delays and Inspired Ecology will assess the potential for common reptile species to occur on site as part of a standard ecology appraisal.
