Barn Owls

Barn owls are afforded special protection under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) and as amended. In addition to trees this species is frequently recorded in outbuildings and barns and is often the focus of protected species surveys which involve buildings. The team has particular expertise in undertaking surveys for this species. Garry Steele is a local barn owl expert and has been awarded a Lincolnshire Environmental Award for his work with this species. He is ideally placed to offer advice and prepare mitigation strategies when this species is present. This can include the provision of and installation of nest boxes as appropriate. Garry and the team have been involved with successful projects involving barn owl towers.

Garry can supply and install nest boxes and advise on the construction of barn owl towers as part of development mitigation strategies and also for non-development conservation projects.
