Our team undertakes survey and mitigation work for common reptile species (common lizard, slow worm, adder, and grass snake). Ring us now for an informal chat about your site and the potential for common reptiles to occur.

Scarborough Nixon Associates Ltd carry out survey work for common reptile species (common lizard, slow worm, adder and grass snake).

These common reptile species are protected from intentional killing, injury and trade under The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended).

As with many protected species surveys, there are seasonal constraints and presence/absence surveys must be timed to occur in the active season (April to September). Forward planning can prevent unnecessary delays and Scarborough Nixon Associates will assess the potential for common reptile species to occur on site as part of a standard ecology appraisal.

The services we offer include:

  • Presence/ absence surveys and population class size assessments
  • Translocation and exclusion schemes (including fencing)
  • Habitat enhancement/creation and mitigation schemes
